Most people have heard of renters insurance policies, but many people don't really know what
they are. A renters insurance policy covers the personal possessions of someone who is renting a
place to live (an apartment or a house or sometimes a condo) in case some destruction of that
property happens.
Some people even think they can get away without renters insurance when they are renting, but
that thinking is a big mistake. The landlord has insurance for his property but that does not cover
your property that you might lose in a catastrophe.
Some people will tell you that, the truth is, you don't really need renters
insurance. Then, of course, the next thiing they say is, " as long as you don't mind
paying for everything that needs replacing out of your pocket." Doesn’t matter if it was the fault
of the guy who lives upstairs leaving the sink running, it is still you who has to pay for getting
replacement things, if you don't have renters insurance.
